Special Moment During Season

Ok, so the school year is done and sometimes that is a good time to reflect a little on the year.  While doing so I realized I never posted a picture of a great event we were part of during our season.

Coach Eaton, our women’s basketball coach, spent a LOT of time organizing an event for the Special Olympics of Western, PA.  The special Olympic athletes and their families were guests for our game against Penn State-Behrend.  The neat part of the day was the athletes got to play a basketball game in between the men’s and women’s games, which was officiated by our coaching staff.  The athletes had a blast and the crowd was great cheering in appreciation everything they did.  It was a great game that actually finished with a made bucket at the buzzer….exciting stuff!!

After the game was over the athletes wanted to get a picture of themselves with some of our guys, so of course it was a neat moment for both the athletes and our players.

Definitely a cool moment and one I wanted to share earlier, but sometimes the year goes so quick you just don’t have time to share all the great stories from it.  But better late than never and I appreciate the parents of the athletes sending me the photo for our Blog so we could share the moment with others.  Looking forward to doing something like this on an annual basis as it really is something great to be part of.

Big Bobcat Fan!

Finals ended here last week for our guys, but that didn't mean they were done for the year representing Pitt-Greensburg.  The guys actually got a chance to welcome a new fan to the family, who might end up being their biggest fan!

Clayton Penrod, from closer to the center of the state in Boswell, PA, got a chance to meet one of our guys, Brett Hart, last week.  Brett brought him some items from the team to show how much we appreciate his support.

As you can see, Clayton was pumped to officially become part of our Bobcat Family!  From what I hear, he hasn't put that ball down since he got it, which is awesome!!  We are really looking forward to having Clayton and his family at some games next year and bringing us some luck as we pursue our goal of winning a championship!

Life is definitely about a lot more than basketball, but it's always good when basketball can help out a little in life.  Basketball always seems to bring a smile to my face, and it looks like Clayton thinks about it the same way :-)
